Helping the p0lice t0 st0p an attempted r0bbery

Last Sunday, M0han and his sister were at home alone. Their parents had gone to a wedding reception. Both of them did not want to go as they wanted to study for the year-end examination .

At about 3.00p.m., three strangers in uniforms stood outside their gate.
   "Hello, anybody home?" they shouted.
"We're here to check your garden for mosquitoes."

Mohan was always suspicious of strangers. He decided to keep quiet. After a while, the men went next door.Mr. and Mrs.Beh, the house owners were not at home. Their new maid was out in the garden alone. Mohan watched from his window but he did not shout to the maid as he was afraid. He saw the maid opening the gate to let the men into the garden. However, instead of just checking the garden, he saw them going into the house. The maid went in as well and they did not come out for a long time. Mohan strained his ears to hear what was going on. He thought he heard struggling noises. Without further delay, he telephoned the police.

The police arrived a few minutes later. They surrounded the house and using a hailer, told the men to give up .The men suddenly appeared on the roof, ran to the next house and jumped down. However, the police were waiting and they were caught immediately. When they went in,they saw the maid tied up on a chair. After untying her, they rang Mr.Beh who came rushing home. Luckily for Mr.Beh and his family ,whatever money stole was recovered.

The police praised Mohan for his good judgement and quick action.Mr. and Mrs.Beh took Mohan and his sister out for an ice-cream and cinema treat later in the week. They were very thankful to have such helpful neighbours.
